Are you someone that is a competitive athlete? If you have ever been ripped away from your sport after a concussion you may know that there is a lot of pain and anger that follows. I sustained my first concussion from synchronized swimming and was later forced to quit due to my injuries. I remember the pain and sadness I felt watching my teammates compete while I sat on the sidelines in pain.
Prior to leaving the sport I did have a traumatic experience with a coach not listening to me when I told them I was physically in pain. Unfortunately, situations like this happen often in sports but, now we are starting to see better implementations of concussion protocols in sports.
