With the suppression of the later throughout history and the rise of media platforms that give anyone with an internet connection a voice, we are seeing, at least in the “western” world, voices that are becoming more and more polarizing and divisive because that’s what draws attention, gets clicks, and fulfills that need to be seen and heard.
