ABOUT BEKAH

Hey CHBC, I’m Bekah! When I was in college at UNC I believed my value and worth were rooted in my accomplishments and in being enough for God and those around me. It was only through Jesus and fully understanding the gospel of grace that I was able to see that God is the only one who can truly satisfy me. That’s why I work for Cru: I want to help college students at UNC and around the world to see that the things of this world will never fulfill them or give them the abundant life for which they are striving. Only Christ can do that.

College is such a formative time for students — a time when they are growing and making a name for themselves. One of my favorite things about my job is getting to walk alongside students as they wrestle with what it actually means to be successful and to discover where their true identity lies. Our hope as a movement is to come alongside UNC students, no matter where they are on their faith journey, and to help them encounter the God of the Bible and respond with their entire lives. Every year as we step into a new school year, I am reminded of how much God loves each and every one of the students with whom I have the opportunity to work each and every day, whether they know Him or not. My prayer for myself and for the students at UNC is that daily we can combat the lies of our culture that tell us our worth, value, and identity lie in the things of this world, and can be reminded that Christ offers us abundant life and gives us our true identity.

Please feel free to send Bekah an email to bless and encourage her at [email protected].
