The Apostle John makes it clear throughout his writing that  John the Baptist was a witness to the Light (Jesus) but he was not the Light. John had been given a special assignment from God to bear witness to the Light and the Gift of Salvation through a relationship with Jesus Christ. When we Believe, we yield ourselves up to be possessed by the “ One in whom we believe”.
