“Believe.” It’s a word some of us hear frequently. As followers of Jesus, that’s a good thing as belief is foundational. But there’s another critical piece to our walk with Jesus Christ… We are not called just to believe, we are also called to testify.
I John 4 says, “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him […] We have seen this to be true and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. “
We don’t have to have all the answers before we “testify.” We don’t have to go to seminary or memorize huge portions of scripture. It doesn’t hurt and it actually helps a lot. But God doesn’t ask us to meet a long list of prerequisites before we tell others of His work to transform our lives. Each of us who has experienced the joy of a relationship with Christ is called to share that joy.
That joy, God’s Good News, is what this world needs. Share your story with those in your life who don’t know Christ. Be bold, most want to know. Pray for them – and keep praying! Live out His message by sacrificially serving them and others in your community. Remember that by sending His Son, God has given us everything we need to draw others to Him. We’re equipped with Him to reach our world, so “testify.”
