Believing Repentance – Paul, apostle to the gentiles warned the disciples that as a Father does God correct his children. The goal is repentance, simply for them to turn from what they are doing and proceed to do those things pleasing to the Lord. In Judgment we find time and again, the goal of our Father is to correct and to redeem. Many unbelievers and critics find a harsh God while the opposite is true. However, if you hate God; then you love death.

Believing Repentance – Authority Over the Nations Pt7 on Sound the Shofar

Believing Repentance – This week in Authority over the nations part seven, we begin with Nineveh. This is a section unlike any other. Here we find a truly gentile heathen nation who is corrected. Yet from the King on down there is repentance. This represents one of the finest truths in Judgment. That the goal is not to destroy but to convince wayward souls to stop doing those things. As a Father over the Nations and one who doesn’t take lightly the sins of men, he sent his son to die for all sins of mankind. We follow these truths and the relationship to today’s world.

We also answer questions in this study which can help you understand these complex and sometimes terrifying scenarios. As Paul said, “We persuade men, for our God is a consuming fire!”

Believing RepentanceAnd Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.” So, the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn everyone from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.(Jon 3:4-10)Scripture
