In this sermon, we'll explore how even good things—traditions, leaders, symbols—can become idols if we place our faith in them instead of Jesus. Starting with the biblical account of Nehushtan, the bronze serpent God once used to heal the Israelites (Numbers 21), we'll see how it eventually became an idol that had to be destroyed by Hezekiah (2 Kings 18:4). This story warns us against turning sacred things into objects of worship.
