Scripture Church

Ben Fuller

Listen Later

Ben Fuller (Provident Label Group / Sony Music Entertainment) did not grow up in church—and that is one of the most important parts of his story.

He was raised on a dairy farm in southern Vermont, where life was defined by hard work, long days, and a culture where faith was nearly absent. Fuller has described his upbringing as a “two percent” environment—meaning almost no exposure to Christianity.

On the farm, there were no prayers before meals, no church on Sundays, and no spiritual foundation to fall back on. The name of Jesus was not spoken in reverence—it was used casually, even as a curse.

“There was no faith to return to later—only a void waiting to be filled”

At the same time, Fuller carried a personal burden that shaped his early life. He longed for affirmation from his father, hoping to hear the words “I love you,” but they never came. That emotional gap, combined with a lack of spiritual grounding, created a space where addiction would eventually take hold.
