10.23.2016 - By Matthew Tommasi: Ultramarathon Runner, Spiritual, Endurance
In 1998 Ben Lecomte became the first man to swim 3,716 miles across the Atlantic Ocean from Massachusetts, USA to Brittany, France - it took him 73 days.
He dedicated his swim to his father who passed away from cancer and the purpose of the event was to raise funds and awareness for cancer research.
Close to 2 decades later, Ben is now attempting to swim 5,500 miles across the Pacific Ocean from Japan to California.
It's estimated the swim will take 6 months and is in support of the Climate Group and sustainability.
