What happens when artificial intelligence becomes capable of doing more for us, but the most important work of being human still cannot be delegated?
After returning from an AI and consciousness retreat at a yoga ashram in Germany, Vish considers this rapidly changing technology through the lens of Vedic wisdom. The question is not simply whether AI is good or bad. It is whether the way we use it moves us toward greater consciousness or further away from it.
At the center of that inquiry is Viveka, the Sanskrit concept of discernment. As generated information becomes more convincing and technology increasingly influences what we see, think, and choose, Vish suggests that spiritual practice becomes more relevant, not less. Meditation, pranayama, yoga, and contemplation strengthen the inner awareness needed to recognize what supports us and what pulls us away from ourselves.
The same question extends to Dharma. Does the technology support the deeper purpose of your life, or does it create greater distraction, dependency, and suffering? AI may search, organize, teach, automate, and create space. But it cannot meditate for us. It cannot pray for us. It cannot live our Dharma.
Perhaps that is the deeper invitation. Use technology to quiet the clutter, while remembering that consciousness itself remains our responsibility.
Points of Light:
- Viveka Becomes More Important as Reality Gets Harder to Read — Vedic discernment offers an inner compass when information alone can no longer tell us what deserves our trust.
- The Real Question Is Whether AI Supports Your Dharma — Technology becomes a spiritual question when we ask whether its use aligns us with deeper purpose or creates greater suffering.
- AI Can Create Space, but It Cannot Do the Practice — A machine may organize our lives, but meditation, pranayama, yoga, service, and spiritual responsibility remain distinctly human work.
- Ancient Wisdom Gives Modern Technology a Boundary — Vedic philosophy shifts the question from what AI is capable of doing to what we consciously choose to delegate.
- Less Cognitive Clutter Can Create More Room for the Divine — The promise of efficiency becomes meaningful when reclaimed space allows greater presence, silence, relationship, and receptivity to deeper wisdom.
