As we dive into the depths of the Mind/Body Connection this week, we decided to take a moment to focus on the benefits of Movement. We are not the only ones who believe that going out and moving will have a huge impact on one’s mental state.   Good Positive Movement can put in you a Good Positive State.”   In the last few years, both Harvard and Berkeley mentioned studies around the impact of movement and one’s mental state. Harvard scientists came to find that simple movement can benefit your mental health. It can help boost your mood and allow you to live in an elevated state. Berkley, referencing a British Study of 11,000 participants over a 25 year period, noted that movement can even reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.   Regular running produces the same brain changes that are thought to be behind the effectiveness of anti-depressants.”   Author of Running is my Therapy, Scott Douglas, shared in some of his recent Runner’s World pieces about how much running impacts his own mental state and that of other runners around the globe.
