We continue our discussion on primary elections, looking more into the benefits and risks of open primaries. Open primaries are seen currently in about 20 states, and are a fairly common process by which nominees are selected for general elections. 

Today we look into how open primaries lower the barriers for unaffiliated voters to make their voices known, and encourage more voters to take part in the electoral process. We also look into some of the risks that come with open primaries and how they can potentially upset the electoral process.
