Benjamin "Benjie" de la Pena is the CEO of Shared-Use Mobility Center, an organization advocating for affordable and sustainable mobility across the US. He also has a master's degree in urban planning from Harvard and occasionally writes in his newsletter, Makeshift Mobility, on innovations in informal transportation.


He joins the Project Offbeat podcast to talk about the unconventional career of an urban planner, the issues with common local developments like subdivisions and highways, and the "true problem" of Metro Manila (it's not traffic!).
