Bernice is a graduate of Princeton University and most recently Emory Medical School and Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She will be starting her residency training at the University of Chicago in Emergency Medicine. She hopes to use her training in medicine and public policy to address health and social disparities on both individual and systemic levels. In this episode, Bernice shares her journey of studying at the most prestigious educational institutions and how she hopes to enact change. She also addresses how society can respond following the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery.
