Since President Trump took office, Senator Bernie Sanders has been vocal in his opposition to growing economic inequality, launching what he has characterized (ironically) as a campaign to “stop the oligarchy.” As part of this ongoing effort, Sanders has traveled extensively across the country to rally support for progressive economic reforms. However, his use of a private jet during portions of this tour has sparked criticism and raised questions about the consistency of his message. When confronted about the apparent contradiction between his populist rhetoric and the use of private air travel, Sanders defended the decision, citing logistical demands and the need to maintain an aggressive campaign schedule as justification.
