Bernie Sanders: Do You Feel the Bern for 2020?

Listen Later

Bernie Sanders is no stranger to the American public. The socialist candidate from Vermont is seeking the Democratic nomination for 2020. Just a note all his assets are in his wife’s name, Here are some facts about Bernie Sanders socialist plans to burn America.

Eight years of Obama

Former President Obama redefined the landscape of American politics. In my humble opinion, he made race relations worse. He crippled our economy by more than doubling the national debt. And he shared a vision of “Globalism” not patriotism.

Due to Obama’s refusal to support simple solutions, like tax cuts, he was the only president in American history to fail to achieve at least 3% annual growth in GDP. But his economic policy is no match for Bernie.

Bernie Sanders is raising a great bit of money to become President. Sanders is a full bore socialist. The ideas that made America a powerhouse of independence and liberty will not exist in his world. The main platform to which Sanders is running on is the following.

Medicare for All

In 2017, Sanders introduced a bill to transition to Medicare for All, a system where every American would get health care through the government. As many of you know I am against this. Presidential candidate Kamala Harris said, “healthcare should be a right.”

The argument is that many American’s cannot afford healthcare. The truth of the matter is, that after the Affordable Care Act, also known as “Obamacare”, the promises of government fixes were a lie.

New data from eHealth shows average individual(Obamacare) health insurance premiums have increased by 99% since 2013. Over the same time period, family premiums have increased by 140%.

To put this in perspective, “Medicare for all” would nearly double the size of the already bloated federal government. Doubling corporate and individual income taxes wouldn’t cover the costs. How do you grow an economy? You cut taxes, not double them.

The Loss of Doctors and Hospitals

Sanders wants to apply Medicare’s below-market rates across the board, which would amount to a roughly 40% cut in payments to doctors and hospitals. I’m sure there are those who hate doctors making money. Sanders hates the one percenters, even though he is one.

“Medicare for all” would be more expansive than anything that exists anywhere else in the world, with the possible exception of Cuba. We all know what great health care they have in Cuba.
Even in Sanders’ beloved Nordic socialist paradises, people pay as much as 30% of their nations’ health costs out-of-pocket. In Communist China, almost a third of health spending is out-of-pocket.

Because Sanders would eliminate prices entirely from health care, the only way to control health spending would be to slap stiff price controls on doctors, hospitals and drugs, or ration care. What would be the effect of this?

There would be chronic shortages of doctors nationwide. Hospital overcrowding would be epidemic. Waits for everything from hip replacements to cataract surgery to cancer treatments would be extensive. Drug innovation would come to a virtual standstill. And there would be endless fights over the size of the government’s health budget, along with massive amounts of waste, fraud, and abuse.
