Chp. 13 verse 17 - Chp. 14 verse 5: Pharaoh escorts the people out of Egypt. They travel into the wilderness, with the cloud leading them during the day and the pillar of fire at night. Chp. 14, begins with Hashem instructing Moshe to return the people back towards Egypt so that Pharaoh would chase them into the wilderness for his final punishment.
