Manny is part of a team that helps the agent grow through good marketing practices. He is more focused on the "real" marketing like social media channels as well as some of the traditional tools like welcome kits and referral programs.

Not all agents come into the business with a marketing degree. At the end of the day, most of what you are doing as a business owner is marketing. You need to promote who you are not only as a business but who you are as a person. There's more to it than just selling insurance.

Being a human on social media resonates with your customers a lot more than just selling. You can be a human as a business owner on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is the largest professional social media network. It is a platform where people can connect with each other and find out more about their professional and personal lives. Being vulnerable and real on your platforms is key. It takes time to build your audience, so don't get discouraged with a lack of engagement.

Completing your profile is the first step. You need to be able to be found and part of being found is having a profile that EFFECTIVELY and CLEARLY shows your value. The simplest things like a photo or bio can say so much about yourself. You want to be real in your photos. LinkedIn is a professional network so dress and pose appropriately. Besides having a photo, the headline is another important part of your profile. People often put their titles in that space, but what does your title actually mean. You want to be real and create credibility at the same time.

What you are posting outside of your professional account is very important to building trust. Beyond what you post, it is also about what you engage with. You need to be conscious about what you are posting and engaging with. The more you engage with others, the more results you can produce for yourself. Creating powerful and meaningful content can be difficult to produce. If you struggle with this, look at trending posts, or just go back to your values and post something you believe in.

Are your posts meaningful? If you post content just to post content and you don't really care about it, you won't get very far. Your posts should be quality over quantity. Posting does not take a lot of time, but thinking of meaningful content takes a while. You should set goals and post with what you feel comfortable with. Manny explains the importance of your business analytics. Using these analytics will help you with your engagement.
Manny emphasizes that LinkedIn is a great way to communicate authenticity in a business world that is mired in professionalism.
