On this week's episode of Formidable Opponents, we continue our series recognizing those artists who influenced and shaped our lives.  We'll tell you that not too many come bigger than this band.  Nirvana was a voice of a generation.  With their distorted guitar riffs, pulsating beats and punk aesthetic, Nirvana ushered in what was to become the popular Seattle "grunge" sound.  A sound that defined the early 90s music world and influenced everything rock, thereafter.  Though short-lived, the music from that era remains prominent, significant and timeless.  On this show, we not only discuss what we each think is the best Nirvana song; we also discuss the trials and tribulations of genius front man Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl's phenomenal next act (which is another band we'll cover down the line) and of course, what could have been.  September marks the 30th anniversary of "Nevermind"  and 28th for "In Utero."  This week we celebrate the music from those albums and more as we dedicate this episode to one of our favorite artists Nirvana.
