Kathy Pendleton  is an author, passionate speaker and determined patient advocate.Kathy is especially dedicated to patient and family participation in medical decision-making and avoiding hospital mistakes. Her fifteen years of experience in monitoring, helping, and asking endless questions during numerous family hospitalizations have strengthened her belief that: 1. No one cares more about our own health than we do, 2. It is our own responsibility to ensure that we avoid medical errors, both in and out of the hospital, and 3. While doctors have years of training and experience in medical knowledge, we have even more years of experience and knowledge of our own bodies. She lives with her husband in central Florida, where she runs her business, Get the Care You Deserve.
