Welcome to the very first episode of Bet On Red — the dual-action podcast for girls in their 20s and 30s who are betting on themselves in New York City and beyond. I'm your host, Mel Hurley, and I spent three years "pre-podding" before I finally got in this chair.

In this pilot episode, I'm getting vulnerable about the messy path to launching: 20 studio tours, 80 podcast names, a vocal cord surgery (yes, really), and every excuse I gave myself to not start. We're talking career pivots, throwing spaghetti at the wall, and what it actually looks like to bet on yourself when you don't have a blueprint.

Every other episode, I'll be sitting down with micro female founders who pivoted mid-career — no seed funding, no family blueprint, just guts. Candid, unscripted, and not taking life too seriously. Because at the end of the day, we're just girls!
