“Never underestimate the ability of your kids to understand something as intangible as empathy might seem because they really can understand a lot of it and they can also teach us a lot about it too. Don’t underestimate the power of a kid.” - Beth Stafford

“If there’s something you’ve always wanted to do, let people know you want to do it...It will lead to other things that are really great.” - Jeremy Slagle

For this episode, DP sat down with the dynamic duo, Beth Stanford and Jeremy Slagle. The partnership started when after doing a podcast together, Jeremy expressed his desire to illustrate a children’s book. During that conversion, Beth realized Jeremy’s vision was in synch with the one she had for her book. Thus began a business partnership, and, more importantly, a friendship.

The books they produce have a great message. Prompted by the great qualities Beth observed in her daughter, she wrote Chin Up Chinchilla, which deals with having empathy for others. The second one, Hip Hooray Hippo, touches on about being happy for others, even if it’s something you desire for yourself.

In this episode, you’ll get to listen in as they recount how they took their concepts and made them a reality, how they overcame their struggles and the people they celebrate for helping and encouraging them on their creative journey. Happy Listening!
