Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." "How can this be?" Nicodemus asked. "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things?"John 3:16 (NKJV)For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.Jesus' love is unimaginable and shocking at times! Pass away ... a permanent word. But have everlasting life ... will heaven meet my expectations? Can Heaven deliver on its promises?

Nicodemus did everything right and still needed a do-over. Dr. Ken Squires shows why nothing you do can make Jesus love you more, or less.

    Jesus Loves Me

    John 3:1-5 (NIV)

Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him." Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." "How can someone be born when they are old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother's womb to be born!" Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

Nothing you do can cause Jesus to love you any more, not godliness or giving.

Nothing you do can cause Jesus to love you any less, not sin or selfishness.

Love is the essence of God's moral nature, so God cannot help Himself from loving each of us! (1 John 4:7-10)

Nicodemus spent his life learning how to reach God, appease God and please God.

Nicodemus inhabited the land of good work and hard work; Jesus told him that his finest efforts didn't mean squat.

What in your life needs a do-over, try again, reload, or mulligan?

Spiritual rebirth requires a willing mother, not an able infant.

Jesus' love is unconditional and redemptive in nature. (Romans 8:37-39)

Jesus' love is unimaginable and shocking at times! (Romans 5:8)

Jesus' love is unlimited and eternal. (Psalm 139:7-12)

    John 3:16 (NKJV)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Your goodness cannot earn Jesus' love, and your badness cannot lose it, but you can resist it.

    Jesus Loves Me

    Philippians 2:6-9 (NIV)

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death β€” even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name.

    John 3:16 (NKJV)

For God so loved (agape) the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Overuse or misuse of the word "love" makes the word powerless. Agape love is less affection and more action. Before Jesus was a servant, He was the second member of the Trinity (Philippians 2:6).

Jesus Christ let go of Heaven. What is Jesus asking you to let go of? (Philippians 2:6)

Jesus Christ took on the form of a servant. How is Jesus asking you to serve? (Philippians 2:7)

Jesus Christ died a criminal's death on a cross. What is Jesus ready to forgive? (Philippians 2:8)

    Deuteronomy 10:15 (NLT)

Yet the Lord chose your ancestors as the objects of his love. And he chose you, their descendants, above all other nations, as is evident today.

The word love (hasaq in Hebrew) is a tethered love, a love that is attached to something or someone. Jesus' love will not let go of you; He chained or handcuffed Himself to you! Jesus' love offered to you means there is nothing you can do to make Christ love you more or love you less.
