This business acquisition concept is referred to as a search fund and recent Harvard Business School graduate, Betsy Brandt, has recently launched her St. Louis-based "search fund" in hopes of finding a company to acquire and operate. Betsy is the managing partner of Forest Park Capital, a private investment vehicle seeking to acquire and manage a single business, allowing for a successful exit and stable succession for small business owners. Betsy's search fund model, also known as "entrepreneurship through acquisition," is designed to provide young professionals an opportunity to be CEO of a company at an early stage of their career by raising funds from investors interested in making private equity investments.
