It is what it is
This is a pleasant little story and the reader is unobtrusive, but some of the bedroom language just made me roll my eyes and do a mental edit to something less laughable. Perhaps the style of the passionate dialog is simply dated; thankfully, the rest of the story holds up. The hero is calm and sedate, but he's not a boring pushover; his inner strength is profound and he doesn't require outward displays to validate himself. The heroine is a wounded dove, but the hero doesnt try to fix her. Instead, he exercises patience and restraint until shes ready to conquer the self-delusions formed in her past. This isnt great literature, but its an amusing diversion, and a nice way to cleanse the palette from heavy doses of modern bad boy alpha males.

I liked this book because the plot started from the beginning and things moved quickly. I liked the relationship the 2 characters have - they respect one another, etc. The story was funny, yet had just enough romance (and a little suspense). For a quick read - Between The Lines delivers.
