💥 Join me today on the podcast (link below) as I exhort: Many false teachers, pastors, and prophets distort doctrine, cleverly teach destructive heresies, and make merchandise of God’s people. “In their greed they will exploit you with false arguments and twisted doctrine. Their sentence [of condemnation which God has decreed] from a time long ago is not idle [but is still in force], and their destruction and deepening misery is not asleep [but is on its way]” (2 Peter 2:3). The apostle Peter also made mention in verse 2 that, “Many will follow their shameful [immoral]ways, and because of them the way of truth will be maligned.” We see this happening today – many are being led astray and into spiritual ditches by teachings from apostates in pulpits all around the world that allow their followers to remain in shameless sins while professing Christ! The constant teaching of “another gospel” is rampant and goes unopposed by the deceived average “churchgoer!”
What I understand is that the Bible firmly stands by its teachings. It's the individuals who profess Jesus as their Lord and Savior who must align with these teachings. And what are these teachings? Obedience to the point of death, even death on a cross. That is the commitment Christ Jesus exemplified, and His followers are expected to uphold the same.
Everyone desires to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, to tread its golden streets, and to dwell eternally with Jesus and the Father in their Kingdom. However, few are willing to faithfully follow the challenging path that leads there.
We exist in an era where evil is prevalent, and only by remaining in Christ Jesus can one avoid eternal condemnation. The Bible states that the Lord recognizes those who are His, for they abandon their sinful ways (refer to 2 Timothy 2:19). In calling upon His name, we are to forsake iniquity—the corrupt and immoral aspect of human nature that disregards God and the eternal consequences of wickedness. This iniquity, characterized by habitual and deliberate engagement in immoral behavior, is what we must renounce if we are truly in Christ Jesus. According to the Bible, this is how we distinguish the children of God from the children of the devil: the former do not persist in willful, deliberate sin while professing His name.
