Luke 11:11-13, 33, 42-44
In today's word, I see Jesus stating that the Holy Spirit is a gift God gives to those who ask Him. The Holy Spirit guides us to live in this fallen world, for He is Holy, Counselor, and Guide. He dwells inside us to lead us and live a righteous life in the sight of God. The Holy Spirit is the light that lives inside of us and connects us to the Father to live a life guided by His love and the standards stated in His word. We are not living a sincere life if we hide our light to garner votes.
Then we see how Jesus was invited to eat at the house of a Pharisee, and because Jesus did not wash His hands, he questioned Him. So, Jesus stated what truly he and others that were there were. He told them they "disregarded justice and the love of God"; they were only seeking to be situated in high places of honor and be well greeted in public places, and in reality, they were tombs on the inside, basically saying they were dead; for they did not live according to the love of God, nor were guided by the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, in this political campaign season, exercise caution in choosing your leaders. Beware of those whose principles do not align with the word of God. Their agenda may be to retain power and enforce laws and status that are not in line with biblical teachings. Remember, the consequences of following such leaders can be dire.
