Patriarchy has always existed - or so we’ve been told. But what if history was more complex than we were taught?

In this episode, I explore a question that has stayed with me for a long time: was patriarchy an inevitable part of human history - or did it emerge at a specific moment in the development of society?

Drawing on data from archaeology, anthropology and genetics, we look at what science actually knows about the origins of social hierarchies and power.

And a small disclaimer: this is my second podcast ever. So if you hear a slip of the tongue, an awkward pause, or a moment where I’m clearly still learning to be friends with my microphone - that’s because I am. This podcast may not be perfect. But the conversation, I think, is worth having.

In this first episode, I share how I ended up studying patriarchy, and why it matters for everyone, not just women.
My path took me through positive psychotherapy, Jungian analysis, somatic practices and trauma work. I grew up in Ukraine, lived in Russia and Hungary, and now call Germany home. This multicultural journey taught me something important: the system doesn’t have a nationality. It just wears different clothes.
I spent 14 years in pharmaceutical sales - which taught me to follow the evidence. And nine years of Vipassana meditation taught me to listen to what the data can’t capture.

I’m not here to find villains. I’m here to understand the mechanism.
