Rekindling Ancient Wisdom

Beyond Religious and Social Constructs. Insights on Death and the Afterlife - Part 1

Listen Later

"We need to return to these teachings of learning how to release a soul from a body. Choosing a path where it's a process that isn't painful or filled with struggle and suffering and is more, in a way, like stepping off of a bus."

Today, we meet at the virtual campfire right before the seventh anniversary of my husband's passing. Seven years ago, a new cycle began, and as I see it coming to an end, I realize it has gifted me valuable insights that I'd love to share. In the first part of this two-part series solo episode, I invite you to reflect on our relationship with death, with our loved ones passing, and our role in allowing them to transition with peace and grace.

Throughout this heartfelt episode, you'll hear valuable insights on death and the afterlife, we reflect on how religious constructs influence us to frame death, and what we think happens to us on the other side. You'll also hear my thoughts on end-of-life care, and the need for a more supportive and empathetic approach from medical professionals, especially when breaking bad news.

Additionally, we discuss the need to reconsider language and cultural narratives surrounding death, the work we must do to learn to approach it with grace and acceptance, and much more.

Tune in to episode 29 of Rekindling Ancient Wisdom, allow yourself to challenge your views on death and the afterlife, and open up to the possibility of embracing a loved one's death from a place of grace, and acceptance.
