How often do we tell ourselves, “I’ll do it next game,” “I’ll work on it tomorrow,” or “I’ll be ready next season”?
We assume there will always be another opportunity.
But there won’t always be.
In this episode of Beyond the Arena: The Hendrickson Way, I talk about urgency and what it really means to approach your life and your sport with intention. Urgency isn't about panic or rushing. It's about understanding that today matters.
For athletes, being all in isn't something you say. It's something you show in the little things: how you prepare, how you practice, how you take care of your body, how you respond to coaching, and how you handle the opportunities right in front of you.
After 19 years of professional basketball and baseball, I've learned that you don't always know when you're getting your last opportunity. Your last game, your last practice, your last rep, or your last chance to do something you've been working toward.
So why wait?
Don't wait for the wake-up call. Don't assume there's always going to be another game, another season or another tomorrow.
Be all in today.
