'Beyond the Gates' Star Trisha Mann-Grant Talks Leslie's Shenanigans, Contest, and Working with Ambyr Michelle
The BUZZ had the pleasure of having a chat with one of the stars of the CBS Daytime soap, "Beyond the Gates," Trisha Mann-Grant. The actress, who plays villainess Dana "Leslie" Thomas, spoke with us about if fans can expect more of the character's messiness to continue in Fairmont Crest. Also, hear her speak about the scene where Leslie threw her daughter out of the house from the "Leslie" perspective, and what it is like to work with Ambyr Michelle (Eva). We also got to talk about one of my favorite scenes, which included Nicole (Daphnee Duplaix) and Leslie having an altercation, and how much of that was improvised... and went a little TOO well.
One of the topics discussed was the short film, "Something About Tomorrow," that Mann-Grant participated in.
"Linda Hamilton, a high-powered attorney, has spent her life winning battles in the courtroom, but nothing prepares her for the fight that begins when her daughter, Sophie, nearly dies from a heroin overdose. Struggling to understand how her bright, talented child became an addict, Linda is consumed by guilt. Meanwhile, her ex-husband, Ray, sees an opportunity to take Sophie to live with him, claiming Linda’s career is to blame. Old wounds resurface, forcing Sophie, Linda, and Ray to confront past hurts and actions. In the end, they realize that addiction isn’t about blame—it’s about love, understanding, and the difficult journey toward healing, together."
The film, which is a finalist in the Peachtree Village International Film Festival, stars Mann-Grant, Lamman Rucker, Katherine Norland, and Duane Finley. More information on the short, including the trailer, can be found HERE.
