The purpose of meditation is to still the mind, teach it to become absorbed in its thinking, to the point that it relaxes and an alpha state brain wave occurs. This focussed mind taken into the workplace heightens our efficiency, taken into our personal lives brings calm, and translated into our bodies lowers our blood pressure, slows our heartbeat and induces better sleep – just to name a few things.
As a specialist in meditation and stress management I am often asked by people for the ‘magic wand’ as to how to rid themselves of worry, panic attacks and emotional dis-ease. My answer is always the same...meditate, meditate, meditate.
It is amazing what you can achieve by just setting aside 20 minutes a day, even if you can only do it three times a week. I can promise you if you do it daily for 6 weeks that after 6 weeks you will not be the same and neither will your lives.
