  • Why You Feel Like a Completely Different Person Around Different People

Do you walk into a room and pick up its mood before you've even said hello? This week: why you can feel like a completely different person around different people, and how to tell what's yours from what you're absorbing.

We talk about reflectors, the rarest type in Human Design (about 2% of people), who take in their surroundings so completely that they can read a room, a relationship or a community before anyone else in it does. We talk about carrying someone else's sadness home without knowing it isn't yours, why that can leave you tired in a way sleep doesn't fix, the one question that helps ("Is this mine, or did I pick it up?"), a little experiment you can try at the grocery store or a coffee shop, and how EFT tapping helps your body settle so what's yours becomes clearer.

If any of this sounds like you, comment RECLAIM. I love hearing from everybody.

  • Why Moving at Your Own Pace Makes Everyone Around You Uncomfortable

Have you ever been told you're intense for wanting to move fast and do it your own way? This week: why moving at your own pace, without asking permission first, can make everyone around you uncomfortable, and why that doesn't make you the problem.

We talk about the popcorn run (what happens when someone leaves the house without a word), why softening and shrinking to keep the peace builds quiet resentment, why the answer isn't pushing less but letting people know before you move, and how EFT tapping helps release the old belief that your independence is a problem, along with the anger underneath that never got to be said.

  • Why You Can Never Stick to Just One Thing (And It's Not a Flaw)

Has anyone ever told you to just pick one thing and finish it, and everything in you pushed back? This week: why wanting more than one thing at a time isn't scattered, flaky or unreliable. It may simply be how you're wired to move.

We talk about starting something with your whole body saying yes, the quiet shame of setting it down when the pull fades, the story "I can't be trusted to finish anything," how that story settles into the body as tightness and tiredness, and how EFT tapping helps move it out. I also share a hard week with my dog Lola, and how pausing, grounding and tapping helped me move through the fear.

This is a permission, not a diagnosis. If it sounds like you, comment RECLAIM. I love hearing from everybody.

  • Why Forcing Yourself to 'Just Start' Leaves You Depleted

Has anyone ever told you that you're lazy and you're just not going for it? This week: why forcing yourself to start things can leave you depleted, exhausted and frustrated, and why that isn't laziness. It's a mismatch between how you've been moving and how you were built to move.

We talk about responding instead of initiating, how your body knows a yes or a no faster than your mind can reason it out, how old stories like "I'm not trying hard enough" get stored in the body, and how EFT tapping helps move them out, whether you tap with a partner, on your own, or collectively.

  • Why Can't I Do "It" Like Everyone Else?
    • Quick answer: That quiet "why am I not like everyone else" question has a real answer — and it's not a personality test. It's a compass for how you're actually built to move, decide, and engage with the world.
    • Signs this is for you: You've wondered why things that come easily to someone else take so much more out of you. You've absorbed years of "shoulds" about how to work, rest, and show up. You find yourself saying yes to things you don't actually want to do.
    • About Terry: Terry is a 2/4 Emotional Projector who didn't fully understand her own pattern of saying yes to almost everything until she saw it named in her own design — and tapping became how she actually released it, not just understood it.

  • Why Comparison Quietly Runs Your Whole Day

Quick answer: That "everyone else has it figured out" feeling isn't really about the other person. It's an old, stored belief that gets held physically in your body — a tight chest, a clenched jaw, tense shoulders — and tapping directly on that belief is one of the fastest ways to loosen its grip.

The question this episode answers: Why does it feel like everyone else has their life figured out, and what does that say about me?

Why the comparison story lives in your body, not just your head: You watch someone else move through their day looking like it comes easy, and a voice inside says, "see, this is how it should look." That story is almost never really about the other person — it's an old belief that you have to earn your place by matching someone else's shape of a life. And beliefs like that don't just sit in your thoughts. They show up physically, as a tightness in the chest, the gut, across the shoulders, a clenched jaw — so often that you stop noticing it's even happening.

What tapping actually does with it: Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique) works by naming the exact belief out loud — something like "why does everyone else seem to have it figured out, and what does that say about me" — while tapping on a specific set of points on the face, collarbone, and hands. Naming the sentence and tapping on it together starts to loosen the belief's grip, because you're addressing where it's actually stored in the body, not just reasoning with it in your head.

Signs this episode is for you:

    • You quietly compare your day to someone else's without meaning to
    • You've asked yourself "why can't I just be like everyone else"
    • You notice tension in your jaw, chest, or shoulders when scrolling or comparing
    • You keep measuring your life against a shape that was never actually yours

About Terry: Terry Pershon is a somatic healing coach and host of Beyond the Shadow: The Somatic Path to Reclaiming You, helping women release old, stored stories from the body — so they can trust themselves again, not just understand themselves differently.

  • Tapping Creates an Exit
Where Do Unreleased Emotions Go? What Tapping (EFT) Actually Does

Quick answer: Unreleased emotion doesn't disappear — it gets stored in the body, often in the same places, layering on top of itself over time. EFT tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique) gives that stored energy an exit point by naming the feeling while tapping specific points on the body, without having to relive the story behind it.

    The question this episode answers

Have you ever felt a reaction rise in your body and had no idea what to do with it, other than swallow it down? Or asked yourself, "where does this go if I don't deal with it — is it still living somewhere inside me?" This episode is the answer.

    Why doesn't emotion just disappear?

Emotion is energy, and energy is meant to move — not stay stored. When a feeling gets triggered and there's nowhere for it to go, it doesn't vanish. It gets stored in the body, often compounding in the same places, layer after layer. Left unaddressed, it can show up later as tension, exhaustion, or short patience with someone who didn't deserve it.

    What tapping actually does

EFT tapping works with the body's energy points while you name, out loud, exactly what's true — "I feel angry," "I feel hurt," "I am sad." You're not reliving the story. You're naming it, which opens a gate for that stored energy to finally move and exit the body, instead of layering on top of what's already there.

Signs this might be for you
    • Feeling exhausted even at rest, without knowing why
    • Reacting more sharply than a moment calls for
    • A sense of stuckness you can't quite name
    • Holding tension in the same places, again and again

  • Why Am I So Different? The Story That's Been Running the Show

Episode Summary This week Terry steps away from the usual format to get personal — tracing the question that shaped her own healing path: why am I so different? She unpacks how an old, familiar story gets stuck in the body (not just the mind), introduces tapping (EFT) as a way to move it through, and shares what it's like to be built to guide others but to have spent years too afraid to be seen doing it. She closes with an invitation to start loosening that story this week.

    In This Episode

    • "Why am I so different — why don't I fit like everyone else?" Question she's answering: the quiet, long-running question so many women carry but rarely say out loud. How this answers it: Terry names it directly and reframes it — being "different" isn't a flaw to fix, it's often a sign of a story that's overdue for a rewrite.
    • "If I understand this in my head, why can't I just move past it?" Question she's answering: why insight alone doesn't create change. How this answers it: she explains that old stories ("too sensitive," "too slow to decide," "too much in some rooms, not enough in others") don't live in your thoughts — they live in the chest, the gut, the throat, the jaw. That's why thinking your way out rarely works.
    • "How do I actually release something that's been stuck for years?" Question she's answering: what to do with a stored emotional pattern once you can name it. How this answers it: introduces tapping (EFT) — gently tapping specific points on the body while naming the feeling, the old story, and the fear underneath it out loud, so the charge has somewhere to go instead of staying stored.
    • "Why do I hold back the thing I have to offer other people?" Question she's answering: why capable, insightful women often stay quiet in rooms where they have real value to add. How this answers it: Terry shares that she's built to see clearly and guide — but that gift only lands when she's invited to share it. Years of hiding meant years of never being asked. She names it as a costume of self-protection, not a personality flaw.
    • "What happens if I keep doing what I've always done — and what happens if I don't?" Question she's answering: the fork in the road between staying hidden and starting to be seen. How this answers it: staying hidden keeps you "safe" but keeps your gift from ever reaching the people who need it. Starting small — letting yourself be seen in ways that feel safe — and repeating that action is what teaches the body it's safe to be visible.

  • Why the First Step Into Healing Feels the Biggest (And Why That Means It's Working)

Summary: Terry checks in on last week's challenge — saying yes to yourself before the guilt and the to-do list — and unpacks why healing rarely feels like a dramatic release. She reframes fear as a doorway rather than a stop sign, shares how she uses Human Design as a personal compass, and closes with a guided hand-on-heart, hand-on-belly practice. She also shares an update on The Reclaiming Intensive: 4 weeks, live 1:1 calls, starting September 9th, $84.99.

Questions she asks — and how she answers them:

    • "Did you say yes to yourself this week?" Whether you did or didn't, both are valid. If you didn't yet, you're just still standing at the doorway — this episode is for you too.
    • "How did that feel in your body, even days later?" Not a big exhale of relief — more often a small rightness, a flicker of doubt mixed with tenderness. That subtlety still counts as progress.
    • "What if later doesn't come?" Resentment and "is this all there is?" are what happen when you keep waiting for later. Saying yes now interrupts that pattern.
    • "What is fear actually telling us?" Fear of the unfamiliar (not fear of danger) shows up right before growth, lasts only a few moments once you step into the new thing, then dissipates.
    • "Why doesn't healing feel like relief right away?" Your body tests for safety before opening further — tenderness, tears, or fatigue are the nervous system working, not something going wrong.
    • "Why use Human Design in this work?" It helped her understand how she's wired — she processes decisions emotionally, in waves, not instantly — which took the shame out of feeling "too much."
    • "What if I don't think it's working?" Something always happened — a deeper breath, softer shoulders, one tear. These "1%" shifts are the actual mechanism of healing; big sudden change would overwhelm the nervous system.
    • Closing practice question: "Does anything feel even slightly different?" The guided hand-on-heart, hand-on-belly practice itself — naming a fraction of release as "this is healing."

Also mentioned: A client testimonial on feeling physically and emotionally different within a few weeks of working together.

  • How Do I Learn to Trust Myself Again?

Terry Pershon explores why "the right time" never comes, how self-abandonment hides inside everyday excuses, and what it feels like in the body to finally choose yourself. Plus: an inside look at The Reclaiming Intensive, opening September 9th.

In this episode, Terry asks the question underneath every excuse: how much longer are you going to wait? She walks through why "not right now" — the busy job, the kids, the money, the timing — is so often self-abandonment wearing a practical disguise, and why waiting is never actually neutral. The body keeps score, even when the calendar looks empty of reasons to act.

Terry shares her own path through suppression, fear of taking up space, and the slow erosion of self that comes from putting everyone else first. She breaks down what fear-based decisions actually feel like in the body — tight shoulders, a gripped gut, a held breath — and offers a simple somatic practice to help you hear your body's answer before your mind talks you out of it.

She also opens the doors to The Reclaiming Intensive, a four-week, fully live 1:1 container beginning September 9th, and walks through exactly what each week holds.

Underlying question → how this episode answers it: Question she's asking: "What is it actually costing me to keep waiting for the 'right time'?" How the episode answers it: Terry names the physical cost of delay — chronic tension, gut issues, fading self-trust — and reframes waiting as an active choice with a body-level price, not a neutral holding pattern.
