Chapitre 1 – Les déterminants structuraux de la santé des peuples autochtones, avec Charlotte Loppie
L'explication de Charlotte Loppie concernant les éléments structurels des disparités en matière de santé fournit un cadre utile qui nous permet de comprendre pourquoi les inégalités persistent, malgré des décennies de politiques et de programmes bien intentionnés qui étaient destinés à traiter les maladies chroniques et les problèmes de santé rencontrés par de nombreuses communautés autochtones. Elle utilise la métaphore de l'arbre afin d'expliquer comment trois éléments distincts mais interdépendants d'une même société peuvent travailler ensemble afin de façonner et de structurer les résultats dans le domaine de la santé.
