Ok, let me ask you a question: Did you notice when Jesus is in the Garden of Gethsemane in episode 8 of Season 5 of The Chosen, he has this vision of being in this valley of bones. But the bones around him aren’t all complete skeletons. Some of them are just scattered pieces.

That ONE fact is going to unlock SO much of this episode for you. And let me explain why!

This scene in the valley of dry bones is just one of three visions that Jesus has while he’s praying in the Garden. And the truth is, none of this happened in the Bible. Nowhere does scripture tell us that Jesus had visions. And that’s because these visions aren’t here because they’re biblical. They’re here to explain things that most people miss when they DO read the Bible.

Because when you understand why Abraham, Isaac, Ezekiel, and Joseph appear in this episode, you truly begin to understand what Jesus is really experiencing in this garden, and why this moment has a major impact on our salvation, both now and in the future. Let me show you…

I just finished watching episode 7 of season 5 of The Chosen and I realized that some of the disciples may not be who we think they are! Let me explain!

For almost half the episode, the Chosen goes through flashbacks of each of the disciples. Some depict when they met Jesus. Others depict their life before Jesus. And at the end of all of it, we’re all just left wondering, "Why?" The scenes were interesting, but what was the point of it all?

But let me ask you something: Do you know the real story behind each of the disciples? Like where Little James REALLY was when he first crossed paths with Jesus? Or what actually caused Simon Z to leave the Zealots? Or who Thomas’s real family was? I mean, doesn’t scripture say he has a twin?

Well, when I started digging into scripture, I realized that there are some moments where scripture is quite clear who the disciples were before they met Jesus. And in the places where scripture doesn’t say anything, The Chosen actually does a pretty good job of filling in the gaps.

But here’s what I didn’t expect: The closer I looked at some of Jesus’ lesser known disciples, the more I began to realize that these disciples aren’t who we think they are. Some of their stories are far darker than we have ever imagined. Others may not even be in the Bible. And in a few cases, there is actually evidence in scripture that could lead us to conclude that not only are these disciples related to Jesus, some of them might actually be his brothers.

He’s back! After 3.5 long seasons, Nicodemus finally returns to The Chosen! And everyone’s ready for him to lay the smack down on some Pharisees. I mean, that’s why he’s here, right? To save the day and help Jesus.

Except, if you’ve seen episode 6, you know that he doesn’t.

The Chosen’s Nicodemus has nothing but excuses. He’s a cowering old man who isn’t even as brave as Mary Magdalene. Which forced me to ask an important question: Is this accurate? Was the real Nicodemus this weak? This scared? Or does scripture paint a different picture?

So, to get to the bottom of this, I scoured the scriptures and the Jewish traditions to uncover as much as I could about the real Nicodemus. I wanted to know the FULL story behind this man.

And what I found surprised me. Because not only did The Chosen highlight some key details about Nicodemus that most people miss, I also discovered one specific moment in scripture that will explain everything Nicodemus is about to do in the seasons to come.

You ready to find out what it is? Let’s go!

In season 5 of The Chosen, Jesus goes to pick fruit from a fig tree, but he finds nothing…so he kills it!!! THIS should concern you. Greatly!

Because the real reason Jesus curses this tree goes way beyond the fact that it doesn’t have figs. It’s clear in the episode that it isn’t even the season for figs. There’s no reason for Jesus to be angry at the tree.

And that’s because this moment isn’t really about the fig tree; it’s about SOMEONE that the fig tree represents.

And in order to get to the real meaning of this passage, we actually have to look beyond The Chosen itself to how these events truly unfold in scripture. Because when we do, we’ll discover important details that explain not only why this tree is so important, but also why this moment should actually concern us, because there is something about this fig tree that, when we stop and think about it, is going to hit way too close to home!

In episode 2 of season 5, Jesus goes wild… …he starts shouting and flipping tables and goes full-on Indiana Jones inside the temple.

But, here’s the thing…it’s not what you think.

And what I mean is…it’s not what Jesus is doing that’s the problem…it’s why.

On the surface, it appears like Jesus is just upset about corrupt money practices in the temple. But when we actually start digging into the Bible, we realize that this couldn’t possibly be the case. For one, there is actually no historical evidence that there was corruption in the temple courts. And second, the only suggestion of corruption that we do have is a verse that Jesus quotes from the OT that we tend to take out of context.

So what really is going on here? Why does Jesus actually sack the temple? And why does it matter?

Well, in this video of The Chosen Explained, I’m going to point out details in this story that you’ve probably never noticed before. And show you how, when we get rid of our assumptions about this story, we realize that Jesus’ real reason for sacking the temple is WAY more controversial than we ever imagined. And totally explains why as soon as he did this…the religious leaders wanted him…DEAD!

 I just got done watching Episode 1 of Season 5 of the Chosen and…I was surprised!

I went into this episode thinking I knew what to expect…Jesus rides in in triumph…maybe we glimpse the Last Supper But I wasn’t ready for what ACTUALLY happened.
