A 24 year old public worker in the Crisis Management Department of the city of Minami Sanriku-cho, Miyagi Prefecture. She saved the lives of thousands by making her final broadcast. She continued to broadcast warnings and alerts over the community loudspeaker system until the tsunami swept her away, 7 years ago today during the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake.”
