On June 16, 1944 (76 years ago, today) George Stinney Jr was executed for a crime he did not commit. At the age of 14, he became the youngest person to be executed in the United States. It took 4 minutes for the murder (I said it) to be completed. He was too small for the electric chair so he was forced to sit on top of the Bible that he was carrying to the chamber. A literal Bible booster seat. From the time of his arrest to the time of his death, he couldnβt stop asking βWhy? Why would they kill me for something I didnβt do?β From start to finish, it was 83 days. His trial was only 3 hours long. The jury consisted of 10 men, all white. And it took these βmenβ (not in my world, assholes) a mere 10 minutes to find George βguilty, of all charges.β π΅πππ: π°'π πππππ
