Solomon and the Temple: The Bible in a Year (1st Kings 8:22-26)

David’s anointing in 1 Samuel 16:1–13 reveals God’s surprising choice of a humble shepherd to lead His people. In this study, we’ll reflect on how God sees beyond outward appearance and invites us to trust His quiet, often unexpected work in our lives. 

 God raises judges to rescue Israel, showing His compassion even as the people repeatedly turn away. This passage invites us to notice the cycles in our own lives and return to the God who delivers again and again. 

 The Shema calls God’s people to a wholehearted love that shapes every part of life, anchoring their identity in the Lord alone. In this study, we explore how Moses invites Israel to remember, teach, and embody this love so that faith becomes a daily, lived practice.

In the Wilderness traces Israel’s fear and frustration as they resist God’s leading and long for the false comfort of Egypt. This study invites us to see how unbelief distorts our vision and how God meets His people with truth, patience, and a call to trust Him again.

The closing chapter of Exodus reveals the Tabernacle as the place where God chooses to dwell among His people, filling their ordinary wilderness with His extraordinary presence. This study invites us to consider how God still meets us in the midst of our journeys, guiding us with His glory and drawing us into a life shaped by His nearness. 

In this session, we follow Moses’ dramatic rescue from danger, a story that reveals God’s quiet protection working through courageous, ordinary people. His preservation becomes the first sign that God is already preparing a deliverer who will one day lead His people into freedom. 

In this study we witness Joseph respond to deep betrayal not with revenge but with a breathtaking confidence in God’s redemptive purposes. His words remind us that God can take what was meant for harm and weave it into a story of life, mercy, and restoration. 

 In this pivotal passage, Jacob undergoes a profound spiritual and physical transformation as he wrestles with a mysterious divine figure until daybreak. This encounter results in Jacob receiving the new name "Israel," symbolizing his struggle and ultimate reconciliation with God and humanity. 

In this study we sit with Abraham in a moment of fear and uncertainty as God meets him with a promise bigger than he can imagine. Abraham’s quiet act of trust becomes a defining picture of faith as he believes God’s word before he sees its fulfillment.
