At a point, they were out of Egypt physically, but were still in Egypt in their minds. Thus, they needed to take Egypt out of their minds in order to please their Deliverer.

And you shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and out you shall overlay it, and shall make on it a molding of gold all around. - Exodus 25:11

The testimony of the apostles and the ministry of Christ teach us even more so in this perverse generation that there is work to do
