A wonderful fact that we could learn from this chapter is the meaning of the word Christ. Many theorize the meaning of Christ and go to questionable sources to discourage the use of this word. The second verse speaks of the rulers of this earth having rage against the most High’s anointed. This exact same scripture is quoted in Acts 4:25 “Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?” Verse 26: “The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord [YHWH], and against his Christ [anointed].” The Hebrew word for anointed is translated to Messiah in English. How come then is the word anointed translated in Acts to Christ? John 1:41 “He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.” The explanation is simple, Christ is a Greek translation for the word anointed.
