Faithful love is not focused inwardly but it focuses outwardly, seeking the welfare of others. Boaz was a family redeemer who showed undeserved kindness to Ruth, a foreigner, and made her his wife. In a greater way, Jesus is our Redeemer who has shown unmerited kindness to us by providing us forgiveness from sin and making us His bride, the church.
