"I do believe we slander Christ when we think we are to draw the people by something else but the preaching of Christ crucified."

-Charles Spurgeon

Why is teaching verse by verse sometimes boring? Why is explaining a text of Scripture a craft and art? Why is Preaching through the bible such a big thing? These are some of the issues and questions the modern church must explain to this modern generation. I interview Justin Peters to launch my season 2 of the Chruch Series to address this very topic. Mr. Peters is an evangelist and an expert on expository preaching, he provides key insight on the subject and talks with me about what is the bottom line of this whole thing concerning preaching!

Enjoy!

This is part 21 of our study of the church. Here I interview Johnathan Leeman the Editorial Director for 9Marks & Teacher. We talk about some of the unhealthy marks of the church, What are they? What if you go to church only for worship music taste? What if you think singing hymns are too boring? How do you know if you are in an unhealthy church? This is a juicy topic and we won't explore every issue but we do cover several. Enjoy!

This is the 18th part of our series of the Church and today, I have the joy to interview Welsh Pastor Andy Young (Pastor of an EPC church in Oxford, England). He gives an update about the health of the church in general in the U.K. We also talk about his church plant in Oxford and the need for more biblical confessing and reformed churches in England overall. Unlike in America where the average reformed church is somewhere north of 300, in England, it's less than 100-150 people. This is a very important discussion in our series because how many people remember The Church of England? Do you know that almost half will eventually close their doors in the next decade or so due to the lack of faithful gospel preaching! What is happening in the U.K. is starting to happen here in America, what are some of the lessons to be learned? Pastor Andy gives us some very strong inside heads up along with very uplifting and encouraging notes as well. Enjoy!

In this part of our study of the church, I talk with Bill Adams an ordained priest in the Anglican Orthodox Church, and director of Sports Fan Outreach Int'l and the George Whitfield Program. We tackle the issue of evangelism and our mission to reach the lost for Christ, we use Mark 16:15 & Matthew 28:19-20 as our main entryway into our conversation. In light of George Whitefield's style and example, we want to shed more light on this very key topic. You cannot talk about the doctrine of the church without talking about reaching the lost! Enjoy!
