This talk explores the complex relationship between humanity and the environment. There are four main ways in which this relationship is structured, according to the biblical materials: the creation narrative, divine judgements in the primeval history, the ‘post-diluvian’ blessing conferred by God upon humanity, and the ‘eco-laws’ in biblical law.
