Rested & Rooted In Real Life

Biblical Meditation: Seeing God as a Good Parent

Listen Later

Fruitful Garden,

We are at the halfway mark of the “Resting in Love” Challenge. The intent of this meditation is to help you invite peace, rest, and calm into your present. Commanding the chaos in your life to know it is not in charge of you or your destiny.

Today’s meditation is focusing on the story of the perspective of the prodigal son, his brother and his father (Luke 15). In this meditation, I invite you to see yourself through this story, whether you are struggling to realize how deeply God loves you or if you can’t seem to shake the idea that working hard is the only way to earn love. This is for you! I hope that through my reflections within this story, you will find that you belong to the King of Kings and He deeply wants to be close to you. All you have to do is let your guard down enough, stop strategizing and give him a chance to show you His love. His love is soft, safe, warm, and gentle. No matter where you find yourself, His acceptance of you is never negotiable. His love and acceptance can become your confidence that you seek for life. May this be your focus in times of struggle. May His love be all that you see - even if life tries to tell you otherwise. You are deeply and fully loved.

Scripture Focus: Luke 15 & Romans 8:14-17
