Title IX turns 50 years old on Thursday. The landmark law, signed in 1972, requires educational institutions that receive government funding to treat all sexes equally.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary, Reset talks to a former high school athlete who was among the first generation of Title IX beneficiaries about the difference it made for her, and how far Title IX still needs to go.
