Failure to obtain Senators Manchine and Sinema's cooperation to support the Build Back Better Bill and voting rights legislation spells trouble for Democrats in the mid-term 2022 elections. It remains to be seen as to what behind efforts have been made to persuade GOP Senators to support a specific modification of the filibuster to allow a 51 vote majority to pass voting rights legislation. According to Senator Mitt Romney, no one has asked for his cooperation. If true, a gigantic miscalculation has taken place. It's obvious that the Biden Administration needs to examine how it has attempted to garner support for its legislative agenda, and hit the reset button before its too late. If either bill fails to pass by September 2022, the House Democrats will take a back seat, thereby forcing President Biden to claim lame duck status for the rest of his term.
