This isn’t the first Shakespearean adaptation we’ve tackled on the show. It’s not even the second, come to think of it. But it is the first one starting Gay Icons and is also somehow the most… tepid? It’s okay. It’s at least as amusing as Splash. And is considerably more progressive, all told. We even get some Gay without the Panic, and only a dash of lingering Hayes Code. If we include this in queer cinema, then it’s certainly one of the funniest. But if you had to pick, maybe watch But I’m a Cheerleader over this. Get to this eventually. But it’s not urgent.
