In the third installment of our series on 'Project Censored,' we discuss what 'news' is, what distinguishes it from opinion and junk food news; how junk food news operates, and what its effects are on the viewing/listening public.  We also talk about Big Tech censorship, ongoing attacks on journalists and press freedom in the U.S. and globally, briefly highlighting the cases of Julian Assange and Edward Snowden. We close with a discussion of critical media literacy - what it is, and what tools are available to ordinary citizens to think more critically about what they see and hear on TV, the Internet, and the plethora of social media platforms available today.
