It happened when Biggy was in kindergarten. Back then, Biggy’s father was interested in masonry, so he was working with stones when the obese guerrilla appeared from the haze and started to threaten Biggy’s family with rumors. Young Biggy was scared, so he started to shudder, and because he shuddered so much, he felt like as if his retinas were shaking, too. Then, Biggy’s father and the guerrilla swapped something. Biggy didn’t know what it was, but he saw that they were exchanging something. Since then, Biggy’s father slacked at his job. Biggy was confused.

그 일은 Biggy 가 유치원에 다닐때 일어났다. 그때 당시에 Biggy의 아버지는 석공의 기술에 대해 관심이 있었다. 그래서 뚱뚱한 유격대가 연무에서 나타나 Biggy의 가족을 온갖 유언비어로 협박을 할때도 그의 아버지는 돌을 가지고 일을 하고 있었다. 어린 Biggy 는 너무 무서워서 몸을 떨기 시작했다. 너무 많이 떤 나머지 그의 망막 마저도 흔들리는 것 같았다. 그리고, Biggy 의 아버지와 유격대는 무언가를 교환하였다. Biggy 는 그것이 무엇인지는 몰랐으나 그들이 무언가를 교환하였다는것을 두 눈으로 똑똑히 보았다. 그때부터 Biggy의 아버지는 일을 게을리 하기 시작했다. Biggy 는 혼란에 빠졌다.

When the rain poured down in torrents, Biggy woke up from a long dream, because he felt something greasy touching him – raindrops. He slept for hours since he felt safe in his haven. Comforted, Biggy was amused, so he felt like dancing to the groove and humming, so he did. When he saw himself, he knew that his joy finally has transcended his sadness coming from life’s predicaments. He knew that he will never be inflicted with pain anymore; however, he never knew that he was on the brink of danger.

비가 억수로 쏟아졌을 때 Biggy 는 긴 꿈에서 깨어났다. 왜냐하면 미끌미끌한 무언가가 자신을 만지는듯한 느낌을 받았기 때문이다 –빗방울이였다. 그는 그의 안식처에서 안전함을 느꼈기 때문에 몇 시간을 자고 일어나던 참이였다. 위로를 받은 그는 기분이 좋았기 때문에 그루브에 맞춰 춤을 추면서 콧노래를 흥얼거리고 싶었다. 그래서 그는 그렇게 했다. 그가 그 자신을 바라 봤을 때, 그는 비로소 그의 행복이 궁지로 부터 오는 슬픔을 초월했다는것을 알게되었다. 그는 앞으로 고통을 받지 않을것이라는걸 알게되었다. 그러나, 자신이 위엄의 직전이라는 사실은 꿈에도 알지 못했다.

The town’s canyon was twofold beautiful that Biggy thought he was watching a cartoon, and he wanted to throw lavish praise on the scenery. When Biggy was busy enjoying the scenery, he heard somebody moaning. Biggy first hid himself and watched with vigilance. There was a boy who was bleeding so badly. Biggy felt like he should help the poor boy out, so he decided to approach him. “I think you need to get stitches,” said Biggy. “No! Don’t touch me,” the boy made a fuss.

“I’m just trying to help you. What happened?”

“Really? Well, my town is devastated, because there was a huge fight between townsmen and the government. The courageous citizens decided to defy the government and the Senate decided to repeal all the laws that guarantee citizens’ rights. I ran away, of course.”

마을의 협곡은 두배로 아름다워서 Biggy는 자신이 만화영화를 보고있노라고 착각할 정도였고, Biggy는 아낌없는 찬사를 주고싶었다. 그가 풍경에 빠져 정신없을 때 누군가가 아픔에 신음하는 소리를 들었다. Biggy 는 우선 자기 자신을 숨기고 경계하는 마음으로 지켜보았다. 어떤 한 소년이 피를 많이 흘리고 있었다. Biggy 는 불쌍한 소년을 도와줘야겠다고 생각해서 그에게 다가갔다. “너 거기 상처 꿰메야 할것같은데,” Biggy 가 말하였다. “안돼! 날 만지지말아줘,” 소년이 야단법석을 떨었다.

“난 너를 도와주려고 하는것 뿐이야. 무슨일이 있었니?”

“정말? 음, 나의 마을은 완전이 파괴되었어, 왜냐하면 마을 사람들과 정부간에 큰 싸움이 있었기 때문이지. 용감한 시민들은 정부를 거역했기 때문에 상원이 사람들의 인권을 보증해주는 법들을 싹 다 폐지했어. 물론, 난 도망친거고.”

“I saw my parents dying. They were chanting and bucking against the government. Of course when they defied, they incurred the worst situation. The army was keep on shouting, “One must reap what one has sown!” and the soldiers were mimicking dying citizens.”

Biggy reeled from the news and felt sullen at the same time.

“Did you see their emblems? Do you know them?”

“No, not exactly. I’m just guessing that they’re from the Senate, because they had platinum swords. Oh, when the town was completely devastated, the soldiers suspended their flags from the windows.”

“난 내 부모가 죽어가는걸 봤어. 그들은 찬송가를 부르고 있었고 정부에 완강히 저항했지. 당연히 그들이 반항 했을 땐 최악의 상황이 일어났지. 군인들은 계속 외쳤어, “뿌린대로 거둔다니까!” 그러면서 그들은 죽어가는 시민들을 따라하기까지했어.”

Biggy 는 뉴스를 듣고 너무 화가 난 나머지 마음이 어지러웠고 동시에 시무룩해졌다.

“혹시 그들의 상징을 봤어? 그들이 누군지 알아?”

“아니, 정확히는 몰라. 그들이 상원측에서 보낸거라고 추측만 할뿐이야, 왜냐하면 백금의 검을 들고있었거든. 아, 맞다. 우리 마을이 완전히 파괴되었을 때 그들은 창문에서 자신들의 국기를 내걸었어.”
