“I thought of enlisting myself for the military and avenge the Senators. Maybe I can steal the ledger and tell the world that Senators are the bad ones. I couldn’t sleep because of insomnia. Even the dainty aroma of fresh coffee couldn’t help me fall asleep. I didn’t know what to do. I wanted to interchange information, but I had no one to ask. It felt as if the world was coming to an end – apocalyptic stories were coming true! I looked for the plough every night and prayed that someone outreaches and helps me. But that did not happen. Again, I prayed that I get the chance to move near the equator, so that no one can find me forever,” Biggy added.

“그래서 군에 자원입대를 해서 그들에게 보복을 할까도 생각해봤어. 어쩌면 은행에서 거래내역을 적은 원장을 훔쳐서 상원의원들이 나쁜 사람들이라고 세상에 알릴수도 있지않을까 생각했어. 불면증때문에 잠도 못잤어. 풍미가 있는 향을 가진 갓 만들어진 커피도 내가 잠을 잘수 있게 도와주지 못했어. 무엇을 해야할지 아무것도 몰랐어. 정보를 교환하고 싶었지만 물어볼 사람도 없었어. 정말 세상의 종말을 맞이하는 것 같았어 – 종말론적인 이야기들이 실제로 일어나고 있었어! 그래서 난 매일같이 북두칠성을 찾아서 누군가가 나에게 손을 내밀어서 도와주게 해달라고 기도했어. 하지만 그런일은 일어나지 않았지. 다시 기도했어. 내가 지구의 적도 근처로 가서 살 수 있게 해 달라고. 그래야 아무도 나를 영원히 찾지 못할테니까,” Biggy 가 덧붙혔다.

Voca didn’t know how to be a solace to Biggy, so he just winked sporadically and said,

“Thanks for sharing your story. I’m glad that you’re not evading your problems, because if you did, I would have stared at you in consternation as if you were an inmate. You are the only progeny of your parents, so you should try many different tacks. Read many books to get helpful excerpts. Remember, no man is infallible here on earth. It’s okay for you to make mistakes. You can do it.”

Voca 는 Biggy 에게 어떻게 위안이 되어줘야 할지 몰랐다. 그래서 때때로 그에게 윙크를 한뒤 말했다, “너의 이야기를 말해줘서 고마워. 난 네가 너의 문제들을 회피하지 않아서 기뻐, 왜냐하면 만약 네가 회피 했다면 난 너를 정신병자처럼 대경실색하며 바라봤을꺼야. 너는 너희 부모님의 단 하나뿐인 자손이기 때문에 많은 방향들을 고려해봐야해. 책을 많이 읽고 도움이 될만한 발췌를 많이 모아. 항상 명심해, 이 세상에 과오를 절대로 범하지 않는 사람은 없어. 실수 해도 돼. 넌 할 수 있어.”

“I’m not an exponent, and I don’t belong to a higher social stratum. I’m not a dentist nor a butler. I don’t know how to keep myself tidy. I never had a cot when I was young. I have never seen a pomp or flare you can easily find on the streets of the rich town. I was rather ambushed. I am thin as a reed. But, I know I can be your friend,” said Voca.

“난 대표적 인물이 아니야. 그리고 높은 사회 계급에 속해있지 않아. 치과의사도 아니고, 집사도 아냐. 난 내 자신을 깔끔하게 하지 못해. 어릴적에 아기침대를 가져본적도 없지. 부자 동네의 길에서 쉽게 보는 장관과 번쩍이는 불꽃은 본적도 없어. 오히려 난 습격을 당했지. 그리고 난 갈대처럼 말라비틀어졌어. 하지만, 난 알아. 난 너의 친구는 되어줄 수 있다는 걸,” Voca 가 말했다.

“When I saw the platoon through the interstitial space, the fear of death loomed large in my mind. I seriously wished I was an ape. I know it sounds ludicrous to say this. I wished I was a little more valiant, but I couldn’t be. The sire supervised the army and handed the parchment to one of the soldiers. That was when I saw so many orthogonal shields and swords,” Voca said.

“작은 틈새를 통해서 군대의 소대를 봤을 때, 죽음의 두려움이 내 마음에 엄습했어. 정말 내가 유인원이였으면 좋겠다고 생각했어. 내 말이 정말 웃기게 들린다는것도 알아. 난 내가 조금 더 용맹한 사람이였으면 좋겠다고 생각했는데 그러지 못했어. 폐하께서 군대를 지휘했고, 양피지 문서를 군인 중에 한명에게 건냈어. 바로 그때 난 직각의 방패들과 검들을 많이 볼 수 있었지,” Voca 가 말했다.
